Babydoll is an immortal vampire who has taken to teaching literature at the Serenity Home for Orphans in exchange for a place to stay.
She has made a promise to herself to give the orphans the chance she never got and to never let anyone or anything (especially adults) hurt them, even if it means putting herself in harm's way.
Despite her reservations towards adults, she actually enjoys the company of the sisters in the home quite a bit. But of course, all good things must come to an end when night falls, for her hunger is the only pain she cannot subdue.
Nightfall is known as "The Feeding" to nearby townsfolk, as she must consume blood in order to continue fighting as she has been. But getting her fill from the children is out of the question, considering her mantra of "whatever it takes to protect them."
Her identity remains a mystery to outsiders, but the children gave her the name "Babydoll" due to her cold stare, porcelain-white skin, and lifeless appearance.
